Valentine's Day

Valentines Day is celebrated on February 14th as a day of love and affection. Named after Saint Valentine, a 3rd-century Roman saint, it became associated with romantic love during the Middle Ages. Modern celebrations include exchanging cards, flowers (especially roses), chocolates, and romantic dinners. In Japan, women give chocolate to men, with a return gift expected on White Day (March 14). The holiday is a major commercial event for the floral, confectionery, and greeting card industries worldwide.
